I began my writing journey with Lineage Independent in 2022.
After trying to improve my horizons I had almost lost the will to try and show the world what I could do. I was then exposed to the joys of joining a writing group, Bexhill Writing Group [BWG]. Where I would again have a chance to reveal my imagination to others.
One member of the BWG, Pat Donohue, was already writing for Lineage under the pen name G. B. Carmichael. She introduced me to Mike Hurd, the owner of Lineage Independent Publishing, a successful American author himself. He had been told I write comedy, and I agreed to give it a go. So I put my head down and adapted a story I had previously written as a monthly project for BWG as my first book. Using this as the basis of my novel released in 2023.
I have nearly completed (as of February 2024) my second attempt at writing comedy within the same genre. The content tells of the continued adventures of a group of OAPs I have conceptualised.
Beck Hilliard is retired from full-time employment after a long career in information technology. He currently resides on the south coast of England in a small village that was mentioned in the Domesday Book as having been laid waste in the Norman Conquest of 1066. The village is now a sleepy tourist haven, known for being the source of the oldest-known spiderweb encased in amber.
